I wanted to thank you for what you have brought to the community of St. John's! I just recently noticed that you have restructured the St. John's website, which looks really wonderful, and I just found the link to this homilies site.

It seems that you are a very gifted witness to Christ, and I really appreciate you stepping out and consistently preaching the Good News that has been given to you! Your homilies have meaning, they take the readings to a deeper practical level, and the challenges are also very wonderful (something I think many Catholics have forgotten).

Anyway, thank you for being faithful to your ministry and to what God has called you to do. May he continue to bless you, guide you, and use you to bring many others into relationship with Him!

You cannot give to every single one asking you to give. You have to pick causes and give to those. The Church, Catholic Charities, Catholic Relief Services, etc. are some organizations you can give to. You can volunteer your time at a shelter.

Thank you for this beautiful meditation on giving -- generously. It is often difficult for me to know who to give to and how much to give. I am bombarded with mail asking for money. There is such great need and I'm never sure who to give to. It is the same with my time. What causes are really in need? Where should I spend my time? I am inspiried by your homily to try harder to pray for God's lead in these matters. I deeply desire a relationship with Him where I can truly feel His guidance each and every day and in the smallest of matters as well as the big decisions of my life. I like the words of Elijah to the widow "Be not afraid". I have heard these words many times this past week. I read them in 2 Bible stories with my children when St. Gabriel met Mary and when He told Joseph that the baby Mary carried was the Lord's. I also heard them so often from the Beloved Pope JPII. In your message, the words "be not afraid" are not explicit, but they are there in the meaning. Thank you Fr. Bekeh and God Bless you and your ministry.
